University of Central Florida students, faculty and staff are experiencing seasonal influenza. Since the beginning of the Spring semester, the Health Services staff has seen an increase in positive cases for the flu or flu-like symptoms.
Flu-like symptoms include a high fever, body aches, joint pains, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps, and chills.
Various over the counter medications are available in YOUR Pharmacy to reduce the symptoms of Flu (including a very affordable flu kit ). People who are significantly ill should see their medical provider for treatment. Prescription antiviral drugs, like Tamiflu, are available at the Health Services Pharmacy but are only effective if taken within two days of the start of illness.
